Here at Los Alamos we use just two of the iSolos. We don't wait before
counting, instead we have an expert interpret the spectra.

We have some circumstances where we have thoron progeny giving counts in the 6
MeV region (Bi-212) with its activity driven by the Pb-212 beta emitter with a
10.6 hour half life.

There are some "peak-shape fitting" algorithms that could provide better
spectra interpretation.

Perhaps we can have some discussion on iSolo type counter at the Spokane HPS.

SONGS does not have a waiting period before counting a sample and does not use
the pulser for calibration.

Hello,

PVNGS is implementing the Canberra iSolo for laboratory air sample analysis.
If your station uses the iSolos:

* Is there a waiting period before counting a sample using the iSolo in
your station procedures?

o If so, how long is that waiting period?

* Does your station use the pulser for any part of the calibration?

Thank you
