At Cook, RP is just RP.

Over the years, since RP works closely with Engineering, the RP lesson system
power points have come to look much like the engineering systems lesson plans,
as they share many of the same power point slides/system overview drawings.
RP just has less information on the systems. RP focus is on functions, major
components purpose and location, tech specs, a few drawings, radiological
precautions, systems interrelationships. We have talked about just adopting
ONE shared lesson plan for each system grouping as the foundation (RP, Chem,
Eng) and then have each discipline have their own specific attributes from the
ACAD in another individual lesson plan (radiological precautions), but we have
never quite gotten there. RP Systems training takes 3 weeks.

At Diablo Canyon we have dual discipline Chemistry and Radiation Protection
Technicians. We have no single discipline technicians on our permanent staff.
During the initial training program our training group uses an Operations
Training developed system training guides that are then customized to emphasize
those aspects of importance from a Chemistry and RP perspective.

Hello,

I'm doing a quick benchmark to find out what systems training is given to RP
technicians as part of their initial qualification.

Is it an Engineering Systems Course? Maintenance Systems Course? RP Specific
Systems Course? Or some other course?

If it is another course, please describe it for me.

Thank you,
Ben Rhoades
