Does your utility allow entry into the RCA with only an electronic dosimeter under certain conditions or for certain types of workers (i.e., no TLD, OSLD)? Visitors enter our RCA with only an ED 2. If so, what are the plant conditions/limitations and or types of workers (i.e., vendors, visitors)? No entry into high rad, locked high rad., very high rad., contaminated areas, or airborne areas. Entry is only allowed for brief inspections and tours through radiation areas. Visitors are not allowed to perform work or handle radioactive material. Visitors are limited to 2 mrem per entry and 10 mrem annually. ED setpoints are 2 mrem dose and 20 mrem/h dose rate. (This is controlled by means of a visitor specific RWP.) Visitors must be briefed for the entry, and the escort is ultimately responsible for the individual's radiological and industrial safety. 3. Is the entry recorded into the normal access control system or other means such as manual entry? Typically visitors are logged into Sentinel using a visitor kiosk, allowing for normal electronic logging. On some occasions visitors are signed in on paper and an ED is setup manually for that entry. 4. What are the pros and cons that your utility has seen with this practice? Nothing noteworthy. 5. What, if any, regulator or assessor feedback have you received on this practice? None that I am aware of. Any additional information you may have on this subject is welcome. Thank you.
