Hello, Here at Westinghouse, parts of our organization are engaged in work supporting several aspects of the AP1000 PWR design. One of these is radiation protection. An RP topic relevant to powernet that has come up recently is the method of performing initial radiation surveys of the plant during and following initial criticality and into power ascension. We are working on refining our process and procedure, but would like to do as much industry benchmarking as practical.
In that light, our team here would appreciate any OE from powernet on initial startup radiation surveys, including responses to the following general questions: * Are there any lessons learned from initial startup surveys that you or your organization would be willing to share? * Are you aware of any OE regarding changes made to the procedures to address ALARA or personnel dose considerations? * Did you consider any industry standard information or methods such as ANS 6.3.1? * Do you have a procedure that you would be willing to share?
