We have generated a 55-gallon drum of desiccant materials used in a compressor located in our Radiological Control Area (RCA). How does your site analyze the material for tritium to allow for free release?
1. Do you have a process to identify the presence of tritium in the desiccant material? 2. Do you send a sample of the material offsite for vendor analysis? 3. Or do you just disposed of the material as radioactive waste? Thank you in advance for your help! Barbara J.
