If she would be required to respond, and has declared, she wouldn’t be allowed
to work in that capacity.

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with a Control Room Licensed
Operator who declares pregnancy. At First Energy, we administratively control
DPW dose to < 50 mrem/month. My concern is whether or not a licensed
individual would risk her limit in the event of a plant emergency when she is
the Shift Manager and cannot leave the Control Room. I understand most
accident safety analyses would be protective in that area of the plant, but I
don’t believe accidents are evaluated for the dose to a fetus, or for the lower
500 mrem/year limit.

Has anyone else come across this scenario and what do you do at your site?
