John,

North Anna uses the following survey tags for temporary ladders and scaffold
platforms:

For permanently installed ladders we use our normal radiological posting
process (placard, rope, stanchions, etc.) for the ladder swing gate or post the
area at the base of the ladder.

Subject: [External] [Powernet] How do you post ladders?

Good Morning,

A question has come up about the best way to post ladders that are staged for
climbing into the overhead. We currently post the ladders "HP Briefing Required
Before Climbing" (or "Entry"). However, industry peers, as a safety suggestion,
have recommended using a ladder tag with similar wording. Inquiries to the PWR
ALARA group ranged from posting the ladder directly to posting are area around
the ladder, as well as use of the ladder tags. What are your requirements for
posting ladders? Is there an industry consensus?

Thanks
