All TVA site permit workers to take their dosimetry home.

We conduct studies of surround areas where most individuals live and have a
pretty good idea of the background variation in the area. We have a few cases
annually of individuals taking their DLR on travel, to medical procedures,
x-raying in the security screening x-ray machine, storing dosimetry near
natural occurring background sources, even compasses with radium dials that we
have to investigate and address from time to time. From a dosimetrist point of
view not ideal, but we manage the challenges it presents.

Subject: [Powernet] Storage of DLR's

TVA External Message. Please use caution when opening.
I would like to know how many plants store their DLRs onsite and how many allow
them to be taken offsite. If the DLR's are taken offsite what type of
background issues are you having.

thanks
