Palo Verde has pressurized ion chambers for some of our installed radiation
process and area monitors. These detectors have Am-241 as a keep-alive source.

Palo Verde would like to know if other sites are utilizing an internal
keep-alive source in their ion chamber detectors. If so, what is the
radionuclide being used and what do you use the keep-alive sources for (e.g.
calibration, routine source checks)?

Thank you,
