Duke has also been using the DMC3000 with neutron module for over a year now
(power entries and Dry Fuel Storage). RSCS does the neutron calibration for us.
We still use our population of DMC2000GNs, too. We do not apply any correction
factor for the GNs after calibration and get pretty decent comparisons
especially in containment. For DFS, very good except for one plant where we see
an TLD/GN ratio of about 1.1. At our other plants for DFS we see an average
ratio of around 0.8-0.9 (TLD/GN). It is pretty much the same for both the
DMC2000GNs and DMC3000 w/ n module.

Naureen,

North Anna still uses the DMC-2000 GNs for neutron exposure. We have not
switched over to the DMC 3000 Neutron Modules. We would be interested in any
results you can share with the new DMC-3000 neutron dosimeters.

Naureen,

So we have just started using them for power entries this quarter.
RSCS does the neutron calibration for us.
We used the REM500 to establish a correction factor which RSCS applies after
they perform the calibration.
We still use our population of DMC2000GNs, also.
Even though we make numerious power entries, most neutron exposure is during
Dry Cask Storage. It will be later this year before we have any DLR neutron
dose to do any comparison.

EXTERNAL EMAIL

Hi All,

I have just received a few of the DMC 3000 Neutron Modules. I am planning to
test them in the neutron prone area of the plant. Prior to do that I want to do
a quick bench marking on the usage of it. Is there anyone using these DMC 3000
Neutron Modules for the neutron dosimetry? How did you find it compared to
using a REM ball based Neutron Meter? Or what do you use in your facility to do
the neutron dose measurement?

Your input you will be greatly appreciated.
