Per procedure should have "No facial hair in the respirator seal area or that
would interfere with facepiece valve function."

Expectation is that our shift-RPTs be ready to don a respirator immediately in
an emergency event. Other RPTs (not currently on-shift) are not required to be
shaven at all times

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Powernet] quick Respiratory Protection benchmark

  * Does your station's respiratory protection program procedure(s) define
any acceptable facial hair styles or facial hair style limitations (for fit
testing and/or issuance of full face respirators) in order to clarify/define
the language of 10 CFR 20 and 29 CFR 1910.134 for the end user?
  * Is there a standard in place that requires technicians and other
qualified respirator users to remain fully clean shaven at all times for
emergency response?

Thank you,
