How does your site / utility handle the use of non-radiological respirator use in the RCA. Asbestos or chemical hazards are examples where the respirator could be required for a non-radiological condition.
At Browns Ferry the respirator user would have to meet the requirements for any respirator used within the RCA. It would be listed on the RWP for the work being performed and the workers would have to be trained for radiological respirators. Our sister PWR sites say that is not necessarily the case and if a respirator is used for non-radiological use it would not need to be listed as an RWP requirement or the radiological respirator training. How do you handle this? It seems to me at least if you are using a respirator in the RCA you would need to be aware of the radiological requirements for its use as well as any applicable OSHA requirements for no radiological use.
