With all this SVN stuff that happened here we asked what is the std OpenSolaris SCM tool and we hear it is Mercurial. We will be trying it out here shortly, perhaps we can be a beta for this work also? Thoughts. Tom ---------------
http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/message.jspa?messageID=41856#41856 Yeah, the idea was to wait until ON switches to Mercurial and to follow it with Polaris as well. While switching to Mercurial today would be a nice thing for getting our hands dirty it would require us to rebuild our repository each time Steve Lau decides to do so with ON repo. Another thing that holds me from advocating switching to Mercurial right away is that Trac in its current incarnation on polaris.blastwave.org does not support Mercurial at all. This feature is in development for the next release (0.10.x), so I figure we may better just wait in patience. That said after participating in SCM quest for OpenSolaris I became a big Mercurial advocate - the package is a real masterpiece and people working on it are brilliant. So I am looking forward for the moment the required infrastructure will be in place for us to switch to Mercurial. -- Regards, Cyril This message posted from opensolaris.org
