Is it over local UFS or something else like NFS ?
What happens if you try to checkout only that
specific directory - 
trunk/usr/src/cmd/lp/filter/postscript/font/devpost/charlib ?

Also try to fsck your parition (in case that is local file system).

It may sound crazy but my local working copy corrupted UFS
it sits on twice already. Weird...
