Hi,

more and more features of the powersave daemon need a running hal
daemon. Looking at the code, with the current implementation (beginning
with version 0.10.20), the powersave daemon would IMO segfault if compiled
without hal. So I will throw out the hal implementation out of the library
and declare hal mandatory beginning with 0.11.0. I know that there are
still systems without hal, but the #ifdefs simply get too weird and the
amount of work caring for supporting both solutions is becoming too
high. Please don't hesitate to send _really good reasons_ for supporting
both solutions in the future ;-) I will do a 0.10.21 release on
sourceforge and forge.novell.com concluding the 0.10.x series.

Afterwards, the 0.11.x series will be some kind of development and feature
improved series where anykind of new stuff will get in to make a really
perfect and amazing 0.12 realease.

Regards,
        Holger

BTW: IMO, we won't get around querying hal for some information withing
kpowersave. Therefore I implemented a C++ class independent of any
application for dealing with any kind of hal stuff. It would be really
good to use this class also within kpowersave and add possibly needed
features.
