Hi,

New mailing list [email protected]
-------------------------------------------------

the list of subscribers grew up to about 15 people during the last
weeks. The discussions are not always devel oriented anymore and more and
more people like to get help and it is not correct to point them to a
mailing list which purpose should be development discussions. Therefore I
created a new mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] for giving
support and having discussions from a users point of view. Subscribe at
http://forge.novell.com/mailman/listinfo/powersave-users

I like to give some examples what may be posted to the new list or who
should subscribe:

  - If you aren't a developer and don't like to become one and just like
to use the powersve daemon and its features, subscribe to
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  - suspend to disk/ram does not work, what to do?
  - after suspend to ram, my screen remains black
  - how to configure the autosuspend blacklist from within kpowersave?
  - how to install a custom event script
  - etc.

This list remains for topics like that:

  - I've got a patch for a new feature or a bug that I like to get
    reviewed and/or checked in
  - I like to implement a new feature (e.g. "getting swsusp2 support out
of the box") and need some opinions or help
  - discussions about svn commits
  - etc.

Of course, the discussions which are currently running and do not fit on
powersave-devel need not to be shifted to powersave-users. They can be
finished here. Any future support requests that are off topic will be
directed to the new list. If you see any other support requests and
questions at, for instance in the sourceforge forums or on kde-apps.org,
please point them to powersave-users list. Everyone will be allowed to
post to the list, even without a subscription. Hence I like to close
powersave-devel for postings of non-subscribers. But I like to get further
opinions on this issue...

The primary language should be English, but I will also announce the new
list on [EMAIL PROTECTED] which is german speeking. Therefore we will
willingly accept any german questions.

Channel #powersave on irc.freenode.net
--------------------------------------

Not sure if this is a good idea or actually needed, but I created a
channel #powersave at freenode. Its purpose should be to give instant help
or having short discussions. Let's see who joins ;-)

Opinions on all this are welcome.

Regards,
        Holger
