Hm, ok. You can force the switch to console in /etc/powersave/sleep for each sleep mode with those variables: SUSPEND2DISK_SWITCH_VT="" SUSPEND2RAM_SWITCH_VT="" STANDBY_SWITCH_VT="" set "SUSPEND2DISK_SWITCH_VT" to "yes" and it should just work.
