Its the message from kpowersave.cpp:

        Could not lock the screen. There may be a problem with the
        selected lock method or something else.

In screen::lockScreen( QString lock_withMethod ), the call to
screen::checkScreenSaverStatus() is failing. I can't figure out the
pattern though. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes
screensaver-command generates an error even though it is successful.
Perhaps it too is failing to find the screensaver window?

I also noticed that screen::lockScreen() doesn't invoke
screen::checkScreenSaverStatus. As an experiment, I've removed that
method call from from the overloaded method so that it will blindly
invoke screensaver-command.

I can't figure out the pattern. It starts to happen suddenly and
doesn't care if the display times out, the lid is closed, or I
suspend. I've tried restarting kpowersave with no joy.

> Did you select Xscreensaver manually in the configure dialog?

Yes, I've selected xscreensaver manually. The first time this
happened, I did change the setting to auto and then kscreensaver
started causing the same issue so I reverted to xscreensaver since
that's my preference all things being equal.
