Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4336919 By: lexspoon The short version: Could kpowersave please put up a dialog before logging out or shutting down? These are irreversible actions, plus they are configured as the default for the power button at least on Linux. Long version: I got caught by surprise by this. I observed that I would seem to log out after resuming. I did not think of kpowersave, but instead figured that there was a bug in the hibernate subsystem or that KDE itself was simply crashing. It took me a long time to track the problem down to kpowersave. I did not understand what was going on for weeks. All I observed was that my computer hibernated as usual (via acpid scripts), and then when I resumed it logged me out. I had to hunt in a lot of corners before figuring out where the logouts were coming from. I did not even realize that kpowersave intercepted button and lid events at all, because I had installed it as a cpufreqd replacement. I can live with having this default that I do not personally like, because apparently lots of other people do want the power button to log them out. However, could you please add a dialog box? It could say, "Are you ready to log out?", and it could have "kpowersave" mentioned somewhere in the dialog box. It could even have a way to make it stop asking the question, for people who are sure they want an instant-logout button. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
