The OpenFlow support in ns-3 is based on a pre-1.0 version of OpenFlow and has never been upgraded. POX doesn't support this version. One would need to do some hacking on the ns-3 OpenFlow model to upgrade it to 1.0, which would be GREAT, but nobody has done it.
