The former is discussed in the "Working with POX: The POX Core object" section of the manual -- especially the first subsection of that: "Registering Components".
The second is addressed in the "The Event System: pox.lib.revent" section of the manual -- particularly in the first few sections (e.g., "Listening to an Event").
