There was a discussion in the PPIG Doctoral Consortium last week about how to keep going with writing. By coincidence, today I happened across a quote from poet William Stafford about how to tackle writer's block:
"Lower your standards and keep writing". This and lots of the other advice that was offered in Brighton is echoed by professional writers: http://grammar.about.com/od/yourwriting/a/wblockquotes.htm. The quote from E. L. Doctorow (on page 2) hit a nerve!
