I boggle at calling these people software engineers.
They appear to be, at best, what Ledgard and Tauer
called in their book (that seems to have set the
basic standard for naming conventions) P-sub-A
programmers: people who think they are professionals
but are still working in a very amateur way.
I'm not basing my judgement on the name "Opportunistic
Programmers" that was bestowed on them, but on statements
like "want to program without having to understand",
found in the CreateSetCall.pdf paper.
