dear friends,

issues regarding the foreign-funded NGOs being
involved in some kind of power-shift in some
developing countries actually not new. jacob levich in
his article published by american online newsletter
december/2003 discussed at length about the
phenomenon. 

in the article, levich elaborates the involvement of
certain NGOs in political coup de tat in georgia, etc.
and most of these NGOs hiding under the guise of
social welfare activities which is permissible in any
countries. certain main organisation like USAID and
George Soros foundation also involve in this
activities.

notwithstnding the fact, it's naive to say that every
NGOs should be suspected as a threat to civil society.
equally it's absurd to defend any NGOs as innocent. 

nonetheless, the piece you've written give a new
insight as far as indonesian intellectual discourse
goes.
