Palestinian Schoolgirl Riddled With 20 Israeli Bullets
Family members give Iman a send-off
By Adel Zareb, IOL Correspondent
GAZA CITY, October 6 (IslamOnline.net) - Just like
always, Palestinian schoolgirl Iman Al-Hams was on her
way to school, smiling and running to join the morning
queue and fly the flag, which is always at half-mast
over dozens of fellow ones killed by Israeli forces
day in and day out.
Though the sound of bullets fired by Israeli soldiers
was quite familiar to her ears, it was so close this
time as bullets penetrated her small satchel.
Witnesses told IslamOnline.net that Iman had tried to
run for her life, but three trigger-happy Israeli
soldiers were so frenzied that they kept chasing her
with their bullets.
According to medics, some 20 bullets have riddled her
tiny body, including five in the head.
Iman was left lying in a pool of blood because
ambulances had been denied access as usual, recalled
the witnesses.
Heartbreaking
"Breath is poor and words are unable to express our
grief," her eldest brother Ihab told IOL as tears
rolled down his cheeks.
Iman was taken to Rafahs morgue, which was bursting
at the seams with her friends and family members who
came to give her a send-off.
"We couldnt believe our eyes at first and thought it
was a terrifying nightmare. We will be missing her,"
said Ihab.
"Though she is far apart, she will be always in my
heart," her tearful mother said.
Too many Palestinian children have been killed by
Israeli occupation troops over the past four years
since the outbreak of the second Intifada on
September28 ,2000 .
One of the most heartrending incidents was the killing
of a four-month baby girl in an Israeli raid.
Iman Hajjour died in May2001 when Israeli forces
shelled Khan Yunis refugee camp in the southern Gaza
Strip.
Three children and their mother were buried to death
by an F- 16air strike in July2002 .

Palestinian Baby Girl Dies Under Israeli Tank Fire
GAZA CITY, May 7 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - In
spite of diplomatic efforts to renew Middle East
negotiations between the Palestinians and the
Israelis, tension between both sides continues,
bringing more death tolls, new agencies reported.
A Palestinian baby girl was killed, and her teenaged
sister seriously wounded, in an Israeli bombardment of
a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Twenty other people
were hurt, Palestinian hospital and security officials
said.
Four-month-old Iman Hajjour died as Israeli forces
shelled Khan Younis refugee camp in the southern Gaza
Strip. Iman's mother, Suzanne Hajo, was seriously
wounded in the attack.
The tank shelling damaged a school, two apartment
buildings and a number of houses, witnesses said. This
brings the death toll to513 since the Palestinian
Intifada erupted last September, according to Western
news agencies. They comprise 424 Palestinians, 75
Israelis,13 Israeli Arabs and one German.
With most of the victims are Palestinian children and
teenagers. Some Palestinian officials say the actual
number of victims is much higher and that the Israeli
military clampdown has caused thousands of injuries.
Following the baby girl's death, the secretary of the
Palestinian presidency, Tayeb Abdel Rahim, called on
Monday for the immediate deployment of an
international protection force.
"After this butchery, we call on the international
community to provide immediate international
protection to the Palestinian people," Abdel Rahim
said.
"We call on the two guarantors of the peace process
[the United States and Russia] and the European Union
to act to put an end to this aggression which begins
to affect children, women and old people," he said.
"This aggression comes after the Israeli government
gave the green light to the army to act without
restraint," Abdel Rahim added.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces maintained the pressure in
the West Bank, staging two raids into
Palestinian-controlled territory in what appeared to
be a new tactic.
A day after Israeli troops seized control of parts of
the town of Beit Jala for several hours to "clear out
gunmen", they briefly entered two other Zone A areas
under exclusive Palestinian control, in Tulkarem in
the north, and at Dar Salah east of Bethlehem.
In Tulkarem, army troops and border guards crossed the
frontier of Zone A territory and used a bulldozer to
destroy a police post which they say Palestinians were
using as a firing position, a senior border guard
officer said.
A spokesman for the Rafudyeh hospital in Tulkarem said
that one Palestinian, Hussein Khader Abu Tamam,45 ,
had died after shell splinters hit him in the chest.
Later, Israeli forces staged an incursion into
Palestinian-controlled territory east of Bethlehem in
pursuit of a car from which shots had been fired on a
patrol, Palestinian security officials said.
Backed by armored vehicles, the forces entered the
village of Dar Salah and set off a20 -minute exchange
of fire with Palestinian police, before redeploying in
the surrounding area.
Israeli forces had previously refrained from entering
Palestinian territory in the West Bank, though they
have made several incursions in Gaza.
However, following an escalation of violence last
week, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said the army had to
think of new ways to react to Palestinian attacks, and
on Sunday Defense Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer said,
"In principle I have approved any entry into Zone A,
if that is necessary to guarantee security."
In Gaza City, an adviser to Palestinian leader Yasser
Arafat, Nabil Abu Rudeina, condemned the raids. "We
ask the American administration and the international
community to prevent these breaches and the war of
attrition carried out by Sharon's government," he
said.
Meanwhile, Jordan's King Abdullah II flew to France on
Monday for talks with President Jacques Chirac on an
Egyptian-Jordanian initiative to end
Israeli-Palestinian violence, but there was growing
gloom about its chances of success.
On Sunday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Mussa,
speaking after a summit between Abdullah and President
Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, said the plan was heading
nowhere because of Israeli resistance and its chances
of success were "minimal".
The plan calls for confidence-building measures before
a resumption of negotiations, but the Israelis have
said they object to a call for a freeze on their
settlements in the Palestinian territories and are
demanding a complete cessation of Palestinian violence
as the essential first step

Sharon Decided to Make It Last Bed Time Tale for Gaza
Children
Donia2 months old
By Falah al-Safady, IOL Palestine Correspondent
GAZA CITY, July 23 (IslamOnline) It was only minutes
before midnight Monday, July22 , when Iman, mother of
three, tucked her beloved ones to bed after reading
them the usual bed time tale. Then, the Israeli F-
16roared high in the sky, fired the killer missile,
and buried them all under the rubble of their home at
al-Darag neighborhood, Gaza City.
The target of the U.S.-made fighter jet, as proudly
declared by Israeli officials, was the assassination
of Salas Shahedeh, leader of the military wing of the
resistance movement Hamas in Gaza Strip. Shahedeh
lived in a one storey-building in the area. Mission
was accomplished, his house was demolished, along with
other six buildings, once inhabited by Palestinian
civilians.
Eyewitnesses told IslamOnline that minutes after
hearing the F- 16sound, they heared a defeaning
explosion, rushed out of their homes to see dense dust
covering the area.
I was about to go to bed when I heard the explosion.
I came out of my house, only a 100 meters away (from
the blasted area), one eyewitness said.
When the dust settled a bit, we heard the screams of
children and women. We started removing the rubble to
be able to save any survivors. Hundreds of citizens
were running everywhere, screaming and scared, it was
chaos, he added.
The raid was devastating, judging from the huge
destruction and high number of casualties, but that
did not stop the people from trying to help the
wounded and get the martyrs out of the rubble. In a
matter of minutes, thousands of Palestinians, men,
women and children, gathered at the hit area. The
civil defense forces arrived two hours after the
blast.
With each recovered body, people shouted No God but
Allah, the martyr is Allahs beloved, a reference to
killed children, who will never again enjoy any bed
time tales, in this unjust life at least.
Revenge for the martyrs was also shouted with each
recovered body. Israeli F-16s kept roaring above their
heads, however, the Palestinians did not care and went
ahead with the rescue operation.
Gaza Shifaa hospital sources declared the death of 11
citizens, eight of whom were children and women. Mona
Fahmy,3 o, along with her two children, Sobhy,4 , and
Mohammad,3 , were killed. Iman Hassan Matar, 27 ,
along with her three children, Donia5 , Mohammad,4 ,
and Ayman,18 months, also were sent to heavens, upon
(Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon orders. Among
the martyrs was Donia Ramy Mater, a baby terrorist,
at the age of two months, and her cousin Alaa, 11
years old.
Some 145 citizens were also wounded by the Israeli
raid, 15 of them were in critical condition. However,
it was clear that the effect Israel sought to leave on
Palestinians was not there. There was no fear in the
eyes of the Palestinians, there was only one dominant
feeling, seen unmistakingly in their eyes. There was
nothing but revenge, and only revenge, for the
cowardly murder of their beloved children.
