Dalam dunia kontemporer sekarang ada macam-macam hal yang dulu kurang dikenal atau tidak diperhatikan. Hal-hal tsb adalah polusi udara, polusi cahaya, dan juga polusi suara. Polusi di udara dan air sudah menjadi hal umum. Polusi cahaya agaknya tak menjadi soal di Indonesia, karena lampu listrik masih kedip-kedip dan juga sebahagian besar negeri dunia III.
Di kota-kota besar di negeri-negeri industri maju pada malam hari orang sulit dapat melihat bintang dilangit, karena pengaruh cahaya listrik di jalanan, adpertensi, lampu mobil etc. Jadi kalau menceritakan kepada anak kecil tentang astronomi, galaktika, milkway, bintang di langit, hal ini bisa menjadi abstrakt baginya, sebab dia tak bisa melihat atau sulit melihat bintang. Coba kalau Anda berdiam ditengah kota seperti New York atau Tokyo, San Fransico, Paris, Roma kota-kota besar lainnya, coba berusaha melihat bintang pada malam hari. Untuk mengatasai atau membatasi polusi cahaya, negeri pertama yang mempunyai undang-undang polusi cahaya adalah Czeko. Mengenai polusi suara, kalau dibicarakan di negeri seperti di Indonesia, tentu banyak penentangnya . Sebab paling tidak akan dikaitkan Adzan dengan suara loudspeaker yang keras-sekerasnya potentiometer bisa capai. Apakah perlu seker-keras demikian dan apakah faedahnya bila dikaitkan dengan keperluan beristirahat bagi yang sakit atau orang bekerja shift, bisa repot. Kalau repot dituduh anti agama masih lumayan, tetapi pembicaraan demikian berkembang main dordoran atau langsung kepala meninggalkan badan. Untuk membatasi polusi suara, misalnya di Turki di adakan pembatasan "decibel" bagi suara adzan dari mesjid. Jadi tidak semaunya pengurus mesjid. Sekalipun sudah dibatasi bagi orang Turki yang beragama Islam masih belum diterima 100%, karena orang kantong berkemampuan tidak begitu setuju. Mereka tidak mau berdiam di lingkungan sekitar mesjid. Saya diberitahukan bahwa bahwa kalau mau sewa rumah yang murah sewanya, carilah disekitar mesjid. Ada suatu observasi yang saya perhatikan, yaitu bahwa bila dibandingkan daerah kediaman penduduk berpendapatan tinggi [upper middle class dan high class] dan daerah kediaman penduduk berpendapatan paspasan dan miskin, maka bisa dijumpai bahwa di daerah pemukinan orang berpendapatan menengah keatas dan tinggi jumlah tempat ibadahnya rendah sekali bila dibandingkan dengan yang miskin atau paspasan. Hal ini tidak berlaku saja bagi negeri yang mayoritas beragama Islam tetapi juga yang beragama Kristen. Coba Anda iseng-iseng lihat di kota tempat Anda berdiam. Saya menceritakan observasi tentang rumah ibadah per capita penduduk berdasarkan pendapatan kepada seorang teman. Komentar yang dia berikan secara ialah bahwa : Tuhan telah mendengar doa orang kaya.
