The 30,000 ton INS Viraat is also visiting Malaysia and Indonesia, the High Commission of India said. Nearly 1,600 people are expected to be aboard along with Sea Harrier aircraft, Sea King and Chetak helicopters. Four other vessels will accompany the carrier here from July 19 to July 22: two guided missile destroyers, an Indian-built missile corvette and replenishment tanker. The Singapore Navy has held anti-submarine warfare training exercises in Indian waters with the Indian Navy since 1994.
