BOJ says positive growth cycle likely to continue* The head of the Bank of Japan says the Japanese economy has been in a positive growth cycle, and this is likely to continue in the long-term. Governor Toshihiko Fukui made the remarks at a meeting of the bank's regional branch managers in Tokyo on Friday. Mr Fukui noted that exports and corporate investments are increasing amid an expansion of the global economy and high corporate profits. He said employee's incomes are growing moderately and that personal consumption also shows steady undertones. Mr Fukui said strong corporate production is leading to the rise in incomes and consumption. The central bank governor predicted that the consumer price index will turn positive in the long term, once the effect of falling crude oil prices subsides. Japan's consumer price index has declined year on year for the past 4 consecutive months. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
