N.Y. crude oil futures rebound strongly to near record high

NEW YORK, July 27 KYODO*
The benchmark crude oil futures contract bounced back strongly to near its
record high on Friday in New York, lifted by firm U.S. economic growth for
the April-June quarter.

The September contract for West Texas Intermediate crude oil surged $2.07
from the previous day to settle the week at $77.02 a barrel, just $0.01 shy
of its record high of $77.03 reached on July 14 last year.
