N.Y. crude oil futures rebound strongly to near record high NEW YORK, July 27 KYODO* The benchmark crude oil futures contract bounced back strongly to near its record high on Friday in New York, lifted by firm U.S. economic growth for the April-June quarter. The September contract for West Texas Intermediate crude oil surged $2.07 from the previous day to settle the week at $77.02 a barrel, just $0.01 shy of its record high of $77.03 reached on July 14 last year.
