*Indonesian leader invites RF companies to invest in his country*.

JAKARTA, September 6 (Itar-Tass) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono has invited Russian companies to make investments in the country'
s economy.

"Vladimir Putin and I discussed measures to improve the investment climate.
Russia is a world great power that possesses of high technologies. Indonesia
has natural resources and a big internal potential. It is necessary to join
efforts in order to meet the interests of both countries," Yudhoyono said in
his address to participants in the Russian-Indonesian business forum on
Thursday.

"Russian investments are not so considerable. But I'm sure that their inflow
will increase," the Indonesian president noted. He pins hopes for LUKoil's
participation in Indonesia's oil and gas sector, and Rusal's involvement in
the country's economy. "Investments may reach several billions," he added.

Yudhoyono said the forum would open ways to develop cooperation between
entrepreneurs of the two countries.

The Indonesian president said he is very pleased with Russian President
Vladimir Putin's first visit to Jakarta.

"We're very glad to meet you. We've long waited for your visit. It's a
historical visit – for the first time in the history of our relations (50
years) the Russian head of state made a trip to our country," the Indonesian
president stressed.

Nikita Khrushchev, first secretary of the USSR Communist Party and premier
of the Soviet Union (1958-1964), made a unique visit to Indonesia in 1960.

Addressing Putin Yudhoyono said, "I'm sure, Your Excellence, that active
measures will be taken on the results of your visit. It (the visit) will
facilitate the development of cooperation between the two countries and help
bring our peoples closer."

During the meeting, "Vladimir Putin and I discussed in detail bilateral
relations, international and inter-regional cooperation", the Indonesian
president stressed.

In his words, Indonesia has expressed gratitude to Russia for its support in
international forums and organisations, including in the U.N. "I'd like to
thank the Russian president for his support to Indonesia in international
forums and organisations, including in the U.N."

"Our cooperation has very big prospects. The talks focused on Palestine,
Iran, Iraq, the nuclear problem on the Korean Peninsula and the situation in
Kosovo. Our constructive discussions touched on all these issues. We
revealed the commonness of positions," the Indonesian president said.

In his words, the talks also focused "on substantive issues related to
bilateral cooperation, the climate change and environmental problems".
