Zoos and aquariums in some 35 countries, including Japan, have launched a joint artificial breeding project for amphibians, such as frogs and salamanders, to save them from extinction, its organizers said Tuesday. The project, dubbed ''Amphibian Ark,'' involves the participating organizations artificially breeding endangered amphibians from tropical forests, they said.
