*Iran, Syria sign industrial MoU*

Iran's Acting Mines and Industries Minister and Syrian Industries Minister
here Wednesday night signed an MoU at the end of two countries' Joint
Industrial Committee.

According to IRNA correspondent in Damascus, Ali-Akbar Mehrabian signed the
memorandum of undemanding on the part of Iran and Fouad Isa al-Jouni signed
it on the part of Syria.

In accordance with the MOU, the two countries' industrialists would have a
joint gathering to survey the perspective of bilateral cooperation in
February 2008, simultaneous with holding the Expert level Industrial
Exhibition of Iran in Syria.

Syria, too, is going to hold a similar industrial exhibition in Iran, and
the interval between the two economic events would be six months.

Iran has agreed to establish joint factories in Homs, Syria for production
of passenger cars, busses, and trailers, as well as chemical fertilizes.

The Iranian firm Kaveh Glass, too, has accepted to immediately begin
construction of a glass manufacturing unit, Iran's Arta Wheel Tire Company
has accepted to reconstruct Syria's Avamia Tire Factory, Iran's Firouzkouh
Company has agreed to cooperate with Syrian firms in production of car
paint, medicines, and diary product, and Iran's Zam Zam and Behnoush
companies have agreed to produce soft drinks and non alcoholic beer in
Syria.
