*Air Force has planned to manufacture cutting edge jet fighters* (Replays to
fix test-flight)

Iran-Air Force
Commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army
Brigadier-General Ahmad Mighani said on Thursday that the Air Force has
planned to manufacture cutting edge planes.

He told IRNA on the sidelines of test-flight of Saegheh jet fighter, he said
that the Air Force will manufacture most advanced jet fighters.

"We have decided to manufacture all the planes Air Force needs inside the
country," he said.

He said that the Air Force has made breakthrough in manufacturing airplanes
so that "We will make good on backwardness of the past." Mighani said that
Saegheh jet fighter is up-to-date in terms of aerodynamic balance and
possessing missile and radar system.

He dismissed the Western threats to Iran as psychological war saying that
they are well aware of Iran's defense capability.

The Air Force commander said that Iran has reached self sufficiency in
manufacturing advanced hardware "compared with the past which we were
dependent on others."

He said that the achievements Iran has made in manufacture of jet fighters
indicated that the economic sanctions imposed by the enemy in the past 30
years have been ineffective.

The commander said that Iran has upgraded range of F-14 airplanes to 1,000
miles boosting capability of the plane to crush the enemy.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Aviation Organization of Ministry of Defense
and Logistics of the Armed Forces said that test-flight of Saegheh jet
fighters is a national pride.

"It is a logistic and combat plane with high maneuvering capability and
bombardment of close targets," Majid Hedayat said.
