*UN secretary general, Iranian FM meet in Istanbul* Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon discussed Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon in a meeting here Saturday. In the meeting which took place on the sidelines of foreign ministers meeting of Iraq neighbors in Istanbul, the UN chief, by referring to Iran's important role in the region, expressed hope that participants in the meeting would increase their cooperation on Iraq issue. Mottaki, for his part, underlined the effective role of the UN secretary general in solving the regional crises and problems. The Istanbul meeting kicked off on Saturday and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon delivered speeches.
