*More effort needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions* TOKYO, Dec. 21 KYODO The Japanese government called Friday for more effort to reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions to achieve its obligation under the 1997 Kyoto Protocol to slash emissions by 6 percent on average between 2008 and 2012 from the 1990 level. At the day's joint session, the advisory bodies to the economy, trade and industry minister and the environment minister endorsed a draft report to review the action plan to cut gas emissions.
