Rafsanjani: Private sector's role in economic boom should be taken seriously
Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here Monday that
capabilities of the private sector in economic prosperity of the country should
be taken seriously.
"With 25 years of experience in management of country's economy we have come to
the conclusion that we should take abilities of the private sector for economic
prosperity of the country seriously," Rafsanjani told a group of producers and
businessmen at the International Green Economy Festival on Monday.
Rafsanjani said the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and the Expediency Council approvals encourage
more private sector's activities.
Iraq ambassador and delegates from a number of Asian and European
representative offices in Tehran were also present in the meeting.
The EC chairman said some standards should be defined in connection with
support for investors and efforts should be made to achieve the objectives by
the next 17 years.
Rafsanjani, also the Experts Assembly head, praised compilers of the first
constitution for their intelligence in paving the road for activity of the
private sector.
He said officials should pay attention to key role of private sector in
country's economic boom.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said productivity is the main
factor for economic welfare of the country, criticizing non-principled use of
resources, reserves and machinery.
