Fukuda urges Hu to continue efforts at dialogue with Dalai Lama
TOKYO, May 7 KYODO
Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda said Wednesday he has requested that
Chinese President Hu Jintao make efforts to address the international
community's concerns about Tibetan issues by continuing dialogue with the Dalai
Lama's side.
At a news conference after meeting with Hu, Fukuda said Chinese officials'
contact with envoys of the Dalai Lama on Sunday was the first step toward a
full dialogue with the Dalai Lama.
