Iran, Syria satisfied with strategic, firm ties

Tehran and Damascus on Friday called for further expansion of bilateral
cooperation in all areas.
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Syrian counterpart Walid
al-Moallem, in a meeting held on the sidelines of the 63rd annual session of
the UN General Assembly, expressed their satisfaction with the current
strategic and firm relations between the two Muslim countries.
In related developments, the Iranian foreign minister reviewed the latest
regional and international developments with his Chilean counterpart, Alejandro
Foxley on Friday.
Referring to Iran's amicable ties with Latin American countries, Mottaki said
that the current trade between the Islamic Republic and Latin American states
touched multi billion dollars.
He added that Iranian companies are active in various areas of oil, housing and
energy in Latin America.
