A short essay „The Development of a New Religion in Central Kalimantan” was published as an advance notice in several periodicals in 2007. I announced, that the following edition would be edited with „Balai Penerbit Amu Lanu Pontianak”. But there is censorship for book publications in Indonesia. The contents of a book may not be against the ideology of Indonesian Pancasila. The above mentioned book uses sources from 1849 and compares tribal religion 160 years ago with the present high religion Agama Hindu Kaharingan which is acknowledged and subsidized by the government. Of course, critizising a religion disturbs the religious peace. So the publishing houses did not dare to edit my book. One publisher, however made the layout for copies and corrected my old fashioned Indonesian into modern language. So I am able to offer the copies from several places to interested scholars at a very economic price. If you buy the book in Indonesia, the money received is given to an asrama for people with mental diseases. First and foremost, the book is dedicated to educated Dayaks and Indonesians. A crucial problem of modern western anthropological writings is, that one cannot differentiate between the tradition and doctrine of the tribal culture and the opinion and conviction of the western scientist (cf. beginning with Schaerer up to the present anthropologists in USA and Western Europe). So above every chapter (for instance „marriage”) I have put some verbal extracts from the curriculum for High Schools (recognised by the government !). So everybody can differentiate between what is original doctrine and my interpretation of it. According to my interpretation my writing would help Indonesian young scholars to learn about the wealth of their history, tradition and culture besides paying attention to exact sciences.
