Formatnya wawancara via telpon antara seorang anchor di studio dan seorang perempuan peserta demonstrasi di Tehran. Perempuan sumber CNN menyebutkan waktu dan lokasi demonstrasi. Dia cerita kegawatan yang sedang terjadi. Keadaan sangat tidak aman, katanya. Dia bilang polisi dan Basij main kasar, memukuli demonstran, menembakkan gas air mata dan bahkan peluru tajam. Demonstran kocar-kacir, katanya, lari ke segala pejuru. Dia bilang dia sekarang juga ikut lari, kabur naik taksi, menghindar kejaran Basij. Dia juga bilang kalau dia cemas beberapa temannya mungkin sudah mati kena tembak. Wawancara live itu diakhiri dengan "doa" anchor CNN: be safe yah. Be safe. Dua hal yang tak disadari CNN dari berita itu: 1. Press TV merekam wawancara live itu dari awal sampai akhirnya. 2. Press TV punya rekaman menyangkut suasana di depan gedung parlemen dan jalan-jalan Tehran yg disebutkan oleh sumber CNN itu selama 24 jam hari yang sama. Press TV mengolah dua hal itu dan menayangkannya hampir seharian kemarin. Hasilnya: bom atom untuk CNN dan seluruh media mainstream Barat. Format tayangannya sederhana: rekaman wawancara CNN diroll berbarengan Press TV meroll rekaman yang mereka dapatkan di lapangan. Nah, begitu sumber CNN bilang demonstrasi ricuh di depan gedung parlemen, Press TV memperlihatkan rekaman suasana pada waktu dan tempat yang sama. Ada demo. Tapi tak ada kericuhan. Begitu sumber CNN cerita kalau orang-orang kabur ke segala arah untuk menghindari kejaran Basij, Press TV meroll rekamanan suasana di jalan2 yg disebutkan pada waktu yang sama. Tak ada apa2. Tidak ada orang berlarian. Tidak ada Basij yang membawa pentungan mengejar2 orang, apalagi kalap menembak ke segala penjuru—seperti kelakuan tentara AS di Irak jika sedang panik. Format ini berlanjut sampai siaran CNN terlihat seperti komedi hitam. Anchor Press TV mengakhiri liputan itu dengan sebaris pernyataan: Kini saya menantang CNN dan jaringan media Barat lain untuk tidak hanyut dalam reportase menghasut dan membuktikan kalau semua berita yang disiarkannya berasal dari sumber-sumber yg bisa dipercaya. Masa monopoli media dan akses informasi telah berlalu. CNN punya sumber, Press TV punya sumber. CNN punya teknologi, Press TV punya teknologi. CNN punya logistik, Press punya logistik. Selamat datang di dunia bebas menopoli informasi. Ngenah euy.... CATATAN: - Rekan MK punya cerita lain. Katanya, Rabu kemarin, Aljazeera Arabic juga menghantam Reuters yang menyiarkan footage seputar "kerusuhan di depan gedung parlemen di Tehran". Footage itu, dipajang di screen Al-Jazeera, memperlihatkan suasana chaos, ada asap tebal, orang panik berlarian di jalan.
