Refleksi: Apakah NKRI bisa mengirim tenaga dokter untuk rumah sakit ini?
http://www.gulf-daily-news.com/NewsDetails.aspx?storyid=270591 A hospital with no patients By BEGENA P PRADEEP, Posted on ยป Friday, February 12, 2010 A CHILDREN's hospital built in Palestine with Bahraini money has yet to accept a single patient - more than a year after it was finished. The $5 million (BD1.89m) Bahrain Paediatrics Hospital in Ramallah was completed in December 2008, but has still not opened because there are no staff to work there. Work on the hospital started in November 2004 and it was originally expected to open by May 2007, but political unrest meant that construction was delayed by more than two years. It was built with money raised by the Palestinian People Support Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), but a lack of medical staff means it is still unable to open almost three years after it was supposed to. "All the construction work is over and the hospital is ready and equipped with everything with everything it needs including the beds," said committee chairman Abdulrahman Fakhro. War "All that is left to do is to get the right staff and the hospital can start treating people. "It upsets us that the hospital is yet to begin treating patients, but a war is a war and things don't necessarily happen the way you plan them. "Everybody is working hard to make things happen soon, but it just takes time because it's not in our control. "I am expecting a reply from them in another two weeks." The 45-bed hospital is located in Ramallah between the existing Kuwaiti Hospital and Shaikh Zayed Hospital. The Geneva-based Welfare Association is responsible for managing the implementation of the hospital, which it hopes will have significant impact on the quality of healthcare for children in Palestine. The building covers 3,139 square metres and comprises a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, including clinical laboratories, imaging, emergency rooms and surgery in a child friendly environment. The BCCI committee has also set aside a $1.7m (BD640m) budget for the operation of the hospital for its first three years. Money for the hospital was raised through a campaign that brought in over $12m (BD4.536m). [email protected] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
