Brazilian President to visit Tehran: Iran ambassador
Tehran, March 15, IRNA -- Iran’s Ambassador to Brazil Mohsen Shaterzadeh said
Monday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s visit to Iran in
May has been finalized.
Talking to IRNA, he said that it is not an exaggeration to say that President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Brazil was a great victory.
The Zionists tried every trick in the book to sabotage President Ahmadinejad’s
tour to the Latin American country but they failed to do so, he said, noting
that his successful visit to Brazil was a serious defeat for the Zionists.
The firm will of the Brazilian chief official to travel to Iran will be a
double defeat for them, he noted.
Lula da Silva is the first Brazilian president who is scheduled to visit Iran
on May 15-16.
He has on several occasions announced that his trip to Iran is certain.
Ahmadinejad was the first Iranian head of state who visited Brazil in the past
50 years, he said.
Despite the fact the foreign media are trying to amalgamate his trip to Tehran
with political goals, the focus of his visit is mutual cooperation, especially
in the economic field.
Given the two countries’ achievements in the field of peaceful nuclear
technology, they will probably cooperate in the field in future, Shaterzadeh
said.
He further noted that Iran and Brazil are the two main economies of the world
and said that there are many areas of cooperation for them.
