Hi,
I was trying to experiment with the pp4. I started by downloading
and installing the tu-darmstad software on my PC, then -- to get
more familiar with the thing -- I used an example stored in the
MiKTeX (texmf\doc\latex\pdfslide\manual.tex) directory by that
Indian guy Radhakrishnan.
I converted the original pdf file (found in the same directory)
with the help of pp4 without any trouble.
Then I tried to convert some (step-by-step) presentation of my own
and I failed. I am getting a message (see below) that I don't
understand (I know nothing about java, I am sorry). Exactly the
same message appears if I compile the Radhakrishnan.'s tex file on
my computer and try to process the resulting pdf with the PP4.

I understand that something essential is wrong in my installation
(Java? PP4?) or ??? a simple (and oldish) physicist, an old-time
LaTeX addict, I am a bit lost at the modern computer wizzardy.
