Dear Pino,

beamer offers facilities to emulate presentations from various packages (like 
prosper, seminar, foiltex).

I'm not quite sure if ppower4 is still supported actively by the TU-Darmstadt 
as the latest news and version 0.9.4 you mention originate from 2002.

I also used pp4 since 2000, but recommend now the really great package 
"beamer" by Till Tantau with extensive possibilities. Even to read the 
manual is already fun!
It's really convenient and does not need post-processing by Java etc....
