I should have told you guys that I spoke with Tom about the PPT, at the Open Source Convention. He has no problems with our taking over the PPT. Our conversation also covered some ideas he had for the PPT, to which there was opposition. I agree with Tom that there should be one version of a program, the "best" version. Multiple versions are confusing, FreeBSD doesn't distribute 5 versions of ls, they distribute the "best" one, the one that complies with standards, etc. In any case, I thought you should know. Perhaps Tom can elaborate or comment on his ideas, should he feel the need.
