I added a test that unless I did sthg silly I think hits the sweet spot. It tests the API thread-safety from a functional pov, without relying on the sync modifier check. Also it doesn't start nodes etc at the risk of testing it so high level you might be testing side-effects of the intermediate layers rather than the actual API. wdyt? I think I still want to see if I can find some BM friendly way to avoid such BM annotation duplication.
