Ah, I see where it happens now. I don't think it can be sure to clear it
though, as we merge later results with earlier ones into a single result. If we
keep merging new save results before the prior one completes, do we accumulate
memory indefinitely?
But as far as maintaining the broader eviction strategy is concerned,
wouldn't this provide the perfect hook to update an additional pointer that
permits us to maintain the map efficiently?
