The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position
of Purchasing Agent (Pos. No: NMU-141) in NAMRU-2
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The incumbent provides management, supervision, and direction to all
Foreign Service National (FSN) and U.S. Government Civil Service
Temporary Hire (GS Temp) employee in the Procurement and
Receiving/Warehouse Branches and technical assistance to the Customer
Service Branch. The position requires expertise in contract
management, procurement directives, public relations and computer
operations
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed
below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each

1. Bachelor degree in Commerce/Business, or equivalent, from
accredited College or University is required.
2. Must have progressively responsible experience in Materials
Management and Contracting with experience in Warehouse management
and local custom regulations.
3. Level IV (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English
and Bahasa is required.
4. Must be able to demonstrate managerial knowledge, inventory
control, storage, distribution and cataloging supply identification
systems, procurement and other related supply functions. Must have
understanding of customs regulations. Should be able to consolidate
pricing data and develop a pre-negotiation objective, and then
conduct negotiations.
5. Must have ability to lead and motivate subordinates to
perform effectively. Fluency in current computer applications and the
ability to create specific programs for procurement. Must possess a
high degree of independent judgment. Must be able to evaluate work
statements for all types of contracts, issue solicitations, receive
sealed bids, and analyze prices and quality proposals.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and

ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90
calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement

into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.

II (for FSN) security clearance.
