I'm sorry, were you expecting stateful reviewers? ;-)

So maybe adding something to effect of "see 6.1 of that doc for more details" 
would be enough. But I read the note to be about coexisting with or using of 
non-updated SASL mechanisms, while 6.1 seems more about migrating.
