Call me a materialistic person but I like nice things. Moreover, I like
having the power, control and ability to own the things I truly love.

But perhaps what I love most of all is the journey toward getting to the
point where I achieve a certain goal. I can honestly say that one of the
best feelings I get out of life is when I decide that I want something
and then embark on a journey to get there and then actually achieve my
goal.

I have learned time and time again that there are countless ways to
achieve your goals but one of the most effective and dare I even say
essential ways to do so is through visualization. Simply put, you must
have a vision of what you want and a plan to get it.

As children, achieving our goals is rather easy because the goals we are
trying to achieve aren't necessarily the goals that we choose.

Think about it. From the moment you are brought into this world, you are
expected to achieve certain goals and make certain advancements, which
are put in place by other people like your parents, teachers,
babysitters, etc.

While these expectations are for your own benefits and will help you
later on in life, at the end of the day, the plan is constructed by
someone else because most children don't have the capability of knowing
what's best for them in the future.

The problem however, is that sometimes this formula of depending on
other people to create a plan for you carries over into adult hood. And
when you're so accustomed to living this way, it becomes harder to set
your own individual goals and achieve them.

The reason why this happens is because when you really break down what
is happening, someone else is essentially creating a vision and a plan
for you to follow to live the vision.

When your parents taught you how to eat, walk, talk, etc, they had a
vision of what you would look like doing these things. When you went to
school and learned math, science, English, etc, your teacher was
visualizing what you would look like putting what you learned into
effect later in life.

When you carry this dependence into adulthood, you are incapable of
creating your own vision, which is why so many go to school for so many
years, for so many different things but wind up never knowing what they
truly want. They have never created a vision.

They simply wander through life doing what they think they're "supposed
to do" because that's the vision they've been given.

Visions however are not given; they are created. Having a vision is a
sure-fire way to achieve all your goals and make your dreams come true.

Now that we realize how important visualization is in one's life, let's
get to the good stuff.
